Unlawful car racing by Polish authorities uncovered in Bur
On a chilly winter's night of Saturday, December 28, 2024, an incident involving suspected illegal street racing took place in the city of Gelsenkirchen, Germany.
The driver of one of the participating vehicles, a Golf, was a 27-year-old man hailing from the city of Großenlüder. The other vehicle involved was a BMW, but the driver could not be located at the scene.
The incident began at the intersection of Vinckestraße/Horster Straße in Gelsenkirchen, where both vehicles accelerated rapidly. The police pursuit followed, with the suspects heading towards the A52 highway.
During the incident, it is reported that the suspects exceeded the speed limit. The driver of the Golf pulled over near Hülser Straße during the chase, while the driver of the BMW managed to evade the authorities.
The police officers, upon reaching the scene, secured the Golf as evidence and the driver cooperated fully during the police control.
Following the incident, the 27-year-old man from Marl was charged with suspected illegal street racing. The BMW, however, remains at large.
Investigations regarding the incident are ongoing, and the Gelsenkirchen Police have urged anyone with information to come forward. For inquiries, please contact Annika Langner at +49 (0) 209 365-2010 to 2015, [email protected], or visit their official website at https://gelsenkirchen.polizei.nrw.
