In the early hours of August 13, 2025, a disturbing incident occurred in Wehringhausen. A newspaper deliverer was attacked around 3:00 AM on Upper Rehstraße.

The assailant, an unknown individual, is described as being approximately 185 cm tall, with a slim, athletic build and a southern appearance. The attacker was dressed in athletic clothing and was accompanied by a young woman.

The attack began when the assailant pursued the deliverer and kicked him from behind on the right leg, causing him to lose his balance and fall to the ground. The attacker also used pepper spray during the assault.

The 43-year-old deliverer, a resident of Hagen, initially ignored the attack but later sustained minor injuries. Remarkably, he declined medical treatment.

Despite an immediate search, the suspect was not found. The Criminal Police are now investigating the case of dangerous bodily harm and are accepting witness statements. If you have any information, you can contact them at 02331-986 2066.
