University Orchestra of HHU Düsseldorf extends an invitation to the concluding performance of the academic term
Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf's University Orchestra to Perform Mahler and Mendelssohn
The University Orchestra of Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf is set to captivate audiences with performances of two iconic works: Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy's Violin Concerto in E minor op. 64 and Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 1 in D major.
The performances, scheduled for January 24 and February 1, 2025, will take place at two venues: Erholungshaus Leverkusen and Tonhalle Düsseldorf. On January 24, the orchestra will perform at Erholungshaus Leverkusen, Nobelstraße 37, 51373 Leverkusen, at 8 PM. Tickets for this event are priced at 12 Euro. The following Saturday, February 1, the orchestra will take the stage at Tonhalle Düsseldorf at 6 PM.
Elena Klaas, a talented medical student and violinist, will perform as a soloist in Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto. The Symphony No. 1 by Mahler, a challenging work, is being dared to be performed by the university orchestra.
Since its inception in 1987, the orchestra has grown from a small group of music-loving students to an ensemble with over 100 participants, boasting a large string and wind section. Silke Loehr has been leading the orchestra since its inception.
