Get the lowdown on the college track and field scene! Two standout athletes, Ishmael Kipkurui from New Mexico and Pamela Kosgei, are competing for The Bowerman – the most coveted award in the sport.
This prestigious award is given annually to the best male and female student-athletes in collegiate track and field. Alongside these two Lobos, some other noteworthy contenders include Aaliyah Butler from Georgia (sprints), JaMeesia Ford from South Carolina (sprints), Doris Lemngole from Alabama (distance) – a two-time semifinalist, Amanda Moll and Hana Moll (both national champions in pole vault) from Washington, and Roisin Willis from Stanford (mid-distance).
The Moll twins are among those recognized for their incredible achievements in pole vault this season. Meanwhile, Pamela Kosgei's record-breaking freshman season in distance events and her unbeaten outdoor performances in both the 5000m and 10,000m, along with her top all-time collegiate finishes, make her a strong contender for The Bowerman.
