In an exciting development for fans of the hit CBS show, The Big Bang Theory, HBO Max has announced a new spinoff series titled Stuart Fails to Save the Universe. This offshoot, which was unveiled in March 2025, will follow the adventures of Stuart Bloom (Kevin Sussman) as he navigates a multiverse catastrophe caused by a device created by Leonard Hofstadter (Johnny Galecki) and Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons).

Ryan Cartwright, Josh Brener, and Tommy Walker are among the new cast members joining the franchise. Cartwright will play Kyle, a comic book nerd and frequent customer of Stuart's bookstore, while Brener will portray Trevor, with specific details about his character yet to be revealed. Walker will appear as Gary, Denise's (Lauren Lapkus) handsome new boyfriend.

The series is also set to feature a selection of supporting characters from the original Big Bang Theory series, including Bert (Brian Posehn) and Barry Kripke (John Ross Bowie). Lapkus is part of the main cast, and the show is expected to pave the way for alternate versions of familiar characters to appear.

Chuck Lorre, co-creator of The Big Bang Theory, has teamed up with Zak Penn, known for his work on The Avengers, to co-create Stuart Fails to Save the Universe. The series is not a spinoff of any previously mentioned Big Bang Theory shows, but it can be enjoyed alongside the original series on HBO Max.

For those looking to catch up on the original Big Bang Theory before updates on Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, it is still available to stream on HBO Max. Meanwhile, another spinoff, Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage, can be watched with a Paramount+ subscription.

HBO Max offers plans starting from $9.99 a month, with the With Ads plan being one of three tiers available. With its engaging plot, familiar characters, and new additions, Stuart Fails to Save the Universe promises to be an exciting addition to the Big Bang Theory franchise. The release date for the series has not yet been announced.

In the entertainment realm, fans of the daily blend from CBS's acclaimed series, The Big Bang Theory, can anticipate a revival with the creative merger of movies-and-tv content on HBO Max, titled Stuart Fails to Save the Universe.
