John Legend's Musings on Politics and Future Music

Looodoo (FP) - Stateside heartthrob John Legend (46) can't shake off his concerns about the political trajectory of his beloved nation under Prez Donald Trump. "We've still got a democracy, but we're edging closer to an oppressive regime, chums," he shared with FP ahead of his lone Germany gig this Saturday (June 7) in Munich's Olympiahalle.

"If we step foot in that minefield, nobody's safe, especially those with guts to speak up, those brave enough to voice dissent. It'd be a hard knock life for them, and I've seen it go down in other places. Could happen here if we're not vigilant as shit."

Disagreeing Politely

The crooner of "All of Me" was a Democrat cheerleader last year and played at one of their shindigs - and he ain't backing down against Trump. "Got a political top dog I can't stand and we're pushing policies I detest," he confessed to FP.

"I'll keep shouting my lungs out and bearing witness, though. I've been quietly working on local and state-level issues so far, but when the time's ripe, I'll take on national matters if I think I can make a difference."

The 46-year-old, who's hitched to babe Christine Teigen (39), plans on serenading Munich this weekend. Alongside his band, he'll pay tribute to his 20- year-old album "Get Lifted" in a special anniversary concert – and that's the only German show on his tour.
