United States ready for nuclear conflict with Russia, according to Trump's statements

In a notable escalation of tensions between the United States and Russia, President Donald Trump has ordered the deployment of two nuclear submarines to "appropriate regions" in response to provocative remarks made by Russia's Deputy Chairman, Dmitry Medvedev.

Trump's decision comes after Medvedev issued a warning against Trump’s ultimatum demanding a ceasefire in Ukraine within a set deadline, framing it as a threat that could potentially involve the US. The US President criticized Medvedev’s statements as "highly provocative" and warned that such words could lead to unintended consequences.

In a public statement on his social media platform, Trump accused Medvedev of making a direct threat to US citizens. He urged Medvedev to "watch his words", as they are "entering very dangerous territory". US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has also expressed support for the move, reposting the announcement on his platform.

The US President has stated that the deployment of these submarines is based on safety for US citizens, given the perceived threats of using nuclear weapons. Trump has also accelerated the US timeline for imposing secondary sanctions on Russia from 50 to 10 days, expressing frustration with the lack of progress towards peace in the Ukraine conflict.

However, specific details such as the submarines’ exact locations and capabilities have not been disclosed publicly. The international community is closely monitoring these developments due to the potential risks of escalation inherent in nuclear force deployments.

This latest development reflects heightened tensions between the US and Russia amid the ongoing Ukraine war, with the US signaling a firmer posture militarily and diplomatically in response to what it views as escalatory rhetoric by Russia’s Medvedev. Organizations like the Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI) have acknowledged the announcement but have underscored the gravity of deploying nuclear assets in geopolitical tensions.

As of now, there have been no reports of any specific actions against Russia in response to the threat made by Medvedev. The Kremlin has not responded to Trump’s ultimatum to Putin. Trump has, however, said that he hopes Medvedev's remarks will not lead "to unintended consequences".
