United States President offers congratulatory remarks in celebration of United Nations' 80th milestone
In a significant address, State President Luong Cuong offered congratulations on the 80th founding anniversary of the United Nations on August 1. The occasion was marked by an online event, which featured speeches by President Cuong, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, and most of the heads of states and governments of the UN members.

President Cuong reaffirmed Vietnam’s commitment to being a trusted, active, and responsible member of the UN, working alongside the international community to address difficulties, overcome challenges, and promote peace, stability, cooperation, and prosperous development worldwide to ensure happiness and prosperity for all.
The Vietnamese leader affirmed the irreplaceable role of the UN in realizing humankind's aspiration for a better world based on the universal values of national independence, national sovereignty, and social equity and progress. He expressed that the UN has kindled trust in and hope for lasting peace and sustainable development of all nations and peoples.
President Cuong also advocated for strong reforms within the UN to better adapt to the new context and improve its efficiency and effectiveness. He stated that the UN has helped prove the importance and strong vitality of multilateralism.
This message aligns with President Cuong’s broader diplomatic vision advocating multilateralism, respect for international law, and global cooperation to address complex contemporary security and development issues, as seen in his speeches at the Arab League and other international platforms.
