Here's the lowdown on Union Berlin's latest move in the football world! The Iron Ones have reportedly snatched striker Andrej Ilic from under OSC Lille's nose, securing his services for the next four years.

In a deal worth approximately five million euros, Ilic has put pen to paper on a shiny new contract, extending his stay in the German capital until the summer of 2029. This comes after a successful stint with Union Berlin following a coaching change, with Ilic scoring a colossal seven Bundesliga goals – all in the second half of the season – under Steffen Baumgart's tutelage.

It appears that Ilic struggled to find consistent game time under Bo Svensson, but under Baumgart's watchful eye, he finally found his stride. The 25-year-old Serbian, who once shone for Paderborn's U19 team, now looks set for a brilliant future in berliner red.

That's not all! Union Berlin is also on the verge of landing Ilyas Ansah from SC Paderborn. With a rumored transfer fee of around four million euros plus bonuses, the youngster is expected to undergo a medical examination early next week. If all goes well, Ansah will join the Bruder cycle (brothers in German) that includes fellow young talent Marius Bülter.

Ansah, who was promoted from Paderborn's U19 to their professional squad in the summer of 2023, was one of the key players for the second division team last season. His tally of six goals and six assists certainly caught the eye of the Union Berlin scouts.
