Union receives certification as women's performance center - Union Berlin’s women’s academy earns DFB elite development status for 2026

Union Berlin has earned official recognition for its work in women’s football. The club’s youth academy will now carry the title of DFB Elite Development Center from January 1, 2026. This certification highlights the club’s commitment to nurturing young female talent in the sport.

The German Football Association (DFB) has awarded Union Berlin elite status for its female youth development programme. The certification covers the club’s Oberspree and Plänterwald training facilities, both praised for their role in supporting young players. The new title will take effect at the start of 2026.

The elite certification places Union Berlin among Germany’s leading clubs for college football development. From next year, the academy will operate under the DFB’s highest standards for training and player support. The move aims to strengthen the pathway for young women in football at the club.
