Diplomats from various European nations have reached a consensus on Ukraine negotiation talks, with the exception of one national leader.

Unified European leaders in negotiations concerning Ukraine, one exception noted.

The future of Ukraine remains in the hands of its own people, as emphasised by the EU and its Member States. In a significant show of solidarity, a joint statement was issued by the Chairs of Foreign Affairs Committees from 22 European countries, the European Parliament, and the UK, urging that any agreement in Alaska must uphold Ukraine's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and constitution.

In August 2025, several key European nations, including Germany, France, and Bulgaria, alongside Hungary, advocated for a diplomatic solution to the Russia-Ukraine conflict. This proposal included a ceasefire without conditions, respecting Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and negotiating peace under the UN Charter with Ukraine's consent.

The joint statement underlines Ukraine's right to choose its own destiny and continues to support Ukraine's path towards EU membership. It also warns against Russia exploiting negotiations to avoid an unconditional ceasefire and push for sanctions relief. The statement emphasises the importance of unity, resolve, and fidelity to universal rights to ensure negotiations serve the cause of freedom.

The European Union, US, and other partners have pledged to continue supporting Ukraine financially, economically, humanitarianly, militarily, and diplomatically. Any agreement reached must not reward Russia for its war of aggression with territorial gains. The joint statement was signed with a firm resolve to stand by Ukraine in its quest for peace and stability.

The full text of the joint statement is available in English, offering a comprehensive view of the international community's stance on the ongoing conflict. The statement serves as a testament to the global commitment to upholding the principles of democracy, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

As the negotiations in Alaska unfold, the international community remains steadfast in its support for Ukraine, reiterating that the path to a peaceful resolution lies in respecting Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity. The future of Ukraine, in the eyes of the world, belongs to the Ukrainian people, and any agreement must reflect that fundamental truth.
