The 13-year-old suspect promptly fled the scene, with authorities launching an extensive search operation that included helicopters and canine units. After a 24-hour search, the suspect was apprehended at the Altstadt Spandau subway station.
In the aftermath, the 13-year-old suspect is currently in custody for psychiatric evaluation, with the investigation shifting focus to understanding the psychological factors behind the attack. The 11-year-old victim underwent emergency surgery and is now reported to be in stable condition.
Following the incident, approximately 20 students received psychological support to address the trauma, and counseling services were offered to parents. The police are still actively investigating the case.
