Unhappy Outburst from Moyo Lawal Following Spread of Barely-Clad Video Featuring Comfort Emmason
In a strong statement on Instagram, Nigerian actress Moyo Lawal has expressed her displeasure over a viral video showing Comfort Emmason, a passenger on an Ibom Air flight, whose top was torn during a fight.
Lawal described the acts as lacking empathy and basic human decency. She slammed Ibom Air staff for how they treated Comfort Emmason, emphasizing the injustice and negative exposure the actress faced when videos of the incident circulated widely online.
The backlash highlighted concerns about privacy violation and public shaming caused by the viral sharing of sensitive footage related to the incident. Lawal stressed that publicly humiliating someone by distributing such material without consent is wrong.
Lawal also criticized those who share and save sensitive materials without consent, particularly those who share nudity without consent for clickbait and to humiliate the party in the material.
The actress urged people working in service roles to manage their emotions better and called for more self-control in dealing with anger. She emphasized the need for anger management in people's lives, suggesting its inclusion in daily life.
The incident stirred strong reactions, including from Comfort Emmason’s family, with her father reportedly disturbed by the stripping and humiliation, demanding compensation.
Moyo Lawal's statements imply that many people are hurt and angry, waiting to explode. She posted on Instagram on Wednesday, criticizing the handling of the incident and the decision to circulate the video online.
