Boosting F1 with Brad Pitt: The Story of a Legacy, Revived by a Rookie's Dream
- *
- Unforgettable driving lessons with director Kosinski and Hamilton
Back in the driver's seat, a veterans' tale unfolds against the roaring engines of Formula 1. Joined by a cast of Hollywood heavyweights, the iconic racing arena comes alive in the upcoming feature, "F1". Directed by the mastermind behind "Top Gun: Maverick", Joseph Kosinski, this high-octane spectacle promises to deliver pulsating action and exploration of second chances.
One unforgettable memory for Kosinski involves none other than the master of the racetrack, Lewis Hamilton. The seven-time Formula 1 champion, who wears the producer's hat in this blockbuster, played the part of an unexpected driving coach. As Kosinski, Brad Pitt, and Hamilton revved up their engines on the first day of filming, the director marveled, "Lewis Hamilton, as my driving instructor - now that's something I'll never forget!"
Brad Pitt portrays Sonny Hayes, a former formula one champion who faced a career-ending crash in the 90s. Thirty years later, Hayes is given a chance at redemption when an old teammate, Ruben Cervantes (played by Javier Bardem), asks him to join a struggling F1 team in one last attempt to reclaim glory.
Hayes teams up with a gifted rookie, Joshua Pearce (played by Damson Idris), and the duo faces a series of hurdles, both on and off the racetrack. Hayes serves as a mentor to Pearce, teaching him the ropes of F1 racing. Interestingly, Hamilton embodies the real-life version of this experienced-yet-newly-crowned champion. "Lewis Hamilton seemed to have experienced it all – nearly winning in his debut Formula 1 season as a rookie and now a seven-time world champion," shares Kosinski.
The movie tells the story of Hayes and Pearce, blending themes of redemption, mentorship, and the fierce competition within the world of professional racing. The film showcases jaw-dropping racing sequences, filmed at actual F1 circuits like Silverstone and Spa-Francorchamps, ensuring an authentic and exhilarating experience for the audience.
