Unfolding twist at Munich's cabaret scene: Laugh & Shoot switches management with a new authority figure
The Laughing and Shooting Society, a legendary cabaret stage in Munich, is set to move to a new location in Haidhausen. After a period of closure due to a dispute and insolvency, the venue reopened in November 2024, thanks to the support of the "Shop Guardians" initiative, which was initiated by former mayor Christian Ude.
Till Hofmann, the previous managing director of the Laughing and Shooting Society, is returning to his role, taking over the management of the venue alone. Ulrich Spandau, Axel Markwardt, and André Hartmann are no longer part of the management team.
The move to the new location will take place in January/February 2026. The new home for the Laughing and Shooting Society is the small concert hall in the Fat Cat / former Gasteig. Steffi Rosner, Grisi Ganzer, and Caroline Redka are part of Hofmann's team.
The Laughing and Shooting Society will continue to present good entertainment, variety, cabaret, literature, live podcasts, comedy, and concerts at the new location. In fact, the venue is set to host a festive event on November 16 to celebrate the move. This event will include free beer and entertainment, variety, cabaret, literature, live podcasts, comedy, and concerts.
Till Hofmann stepped down as managing director of the Laughing and Shooting Society in autumn 2021 due to differences of opinion with former co-owners. However, his passion for the venue and its mission never wavered. Now, he is excited to lead the Laughing and Shooting Society into its next chapter.
The Laughing and Shooting Society's previous location at the corner of Haimhauser/Ursulastraße is no longer being used. The search results do not contain information about the location of the permanent site of the Munich Laughing and Shooting Society starting January/February 2026. Rest assured, the Laughing and Shooting Society will continue to be a vibrant and essential part of Munich's cultural landscape.
