Weather Alert Issued for Four Days of Rain and Cooler Temperatures in UAE

The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a weather alert for parts of the UAE, predicting four days of rain and cooler temperatures from Wednesday through Saturday. Scattered convective clouds and rainfall are expected mainly in the eastern and southern regions, with nights and early mornings becoming humid in western areas, accompanied by possible fog or light mist.

The weather alert warns of convective rainy cloud formation and strong winds reaching up to 50 km/h in eastern and southern areas, extending into some interior regions. Winds will blow from southeast to northeast at speeds of 10–25 km/h, occasionally reaching up to 40 km/h, causing dust to stir.

In addition to the weather alert, the NCM has issued a dust alert for some internal areas on Thursday, August 28, 2025, due to fresh southeasterly winds reaching 40 km/h that will reduce visibility to less than 2,000 meters between 05:30 am and 10 am.

Temperatures remain very high, with internal areas expected to reach 41–46°C, coastal areas 38–43°C, and mountainous regions 31–36°C. Humidity will increase overnight and into Friday morning, especially in western zones, raising the chance of fog or mist formation.

Residents are advised to be prepared for variable weather including rain, dust, and changing temperatures over the coming days. The weather conditions may cause dust storms and a sharp drop in horizontal visibility to less than 2,000 meters. The forecast also indicates a continued potential for convective cloud development over eastern and southern regions, possibly bringing rainfall.

Sea conditions will remain slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and slight in the Oman Sea, with no new safety instructions or advisories issued. Authorities have advised the public to remain cautious and comply with official safety instructions. The NCM recorded the country's lowest temperature at 25°C in Al Farfar, Fujairah, at 7:45am today, but no new temperature records were reported.

In summary, residents can expect four days of rain and cooler temperatures, particularly from Wednesday through Saturday, with humidity and fog expected overnight and early mornings, particularly in western and coastal areas. A dust storm and blowing dust alert has been issued for Thursday morning over some internal areas with reduced visibility. High daytime temperatures persist, peaking around 44-46°C in internal and coastal areas.
