Unexpected shift in Super Sunday football broadcasting by Sky Sports revealed
Sky Sports Introduces Multiview for Premier League Season
As the 25/26 Premier League season kicks off this Friday with champions Liverpool hosting Bournemouth, Sky Sports is set to revolutionize the viewing experience with its new Multiview format.
What is Multiview?
Multiview is a groundbreaking feature that allows viewers to watch up to four Premier League matches simultaneously on the same screen. This dynamic format is particularly useful on Sundays when multiple games are broadcast due to European fixture rescheduling.
- Simultaneous Viewing: Multiview enables fans to watch a main match alongside three smaller screens of other games, ensuring they don't miss out on crucial moments from multiple matches.
- Dynamic Switching: The format dynamically switches between games to highlight significant plays such as goals and big moments, inspired by the NFL's "Red Zone" style.
- Commentary and Analysis: Dedicated commentary teams and half-time analysis are available for Multiview, ensuring comprehensive coverage of all matches.
Customizing Screen Selection
While viewers can't directly customize which games appear in the smaller screens of Multiview, they can still choose to watch individual matches if desired. Each match is available to watch on different channels or through the Sky Sports app and NOW.
Multiview is accessible across all Sky TV platforms, the Sky Sports app, and NOW, providing flexibility for viewers to watch on their preferred devices.
Return of 'Sunday Supplement'
In addition to Multiview, Sky Sports is also bringing back its popular 'Sunday Supplement' program. This show, where guest journalists offer their opinions on the latest stories in football around a breakfast table, will return to TV screens after being axed. Dharmesh Sheth is reported to be the host of the rebooted show.
New Shows on Sky Sports News
Sky Sports News is also launching a new package of shows, including 'The Premier League Show' and 'Premier League Friday'. Roman Kemp is hosting 'Premier League Friday' on Sky Sports News.
Mark Chapman will be a presenter on Sky Sports' Premier League coverage, in addition to his work on Match of the Day.
New Title Track and Broadcast Rights
The new season also brings a new title track for Sky's coverage, with G.O.A.T by Kasabian featuring Cristale as the new theme. Sky Sports will broadcast 215 Premier League fixtures live, an increase from 128 last season.
With the new season promising exciting changes, fans can look forward to a more immersive and engaging Premier League experience on Sky Sports.
