Hear ye, hear ye! The badass Czech MMA fighter, Jiří Procházka, recently took a splash into something other than the octagon – and boy, did he make a splash! As reported on our site, this fearless athlete dove 30 meters beneath the frigid ice of Lake Sil in Switzerland.
This extreme feat was no laughing matter, as Procházka trained under the watchful eye of Czech freediver David Vencl, who boasts a Guinness World Record for swimming an impressive 80.8 meters under ice. Grasping the ropes of that kind of wisdom, Procházka gave it a trial run in a special wetsuit with some pauses, accompanied by his mentor. Then, he switched gears and took the plunge in just swim trunks, a cap, and goggles – and he kept on swimming, uninterrupted, for 30 meters under the rock-hard ice.
