Let's Jazz Festival Delights Minsk with Two Days of Music, Culture, and Joy

The city of Minsk, Belarus, was recently buzzing with the vibrant energy of the annual Let's Jazz festival. Held at Gorky Central Children's Park (Gorky Park) from August 16 to 17, the event celebrated jazz, funk, soul, and swing, attracting thousands of music lovers from around the globe.

This year's edition featured over 100 musicians from various corners of the world, including the United States, Europe, Trinidad and Tobago, Ghana, and New Guinea. The festival's diverse lineup included headliners such as James Brown (a tribute act, as the original James Brown passed away earlier) and other artists who brought styles like serious afrofunk to the stage.

The first day of the festival kicked off with the performance of the first African-American saxophonist inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. The evening's headliner was the legendary musician Gregg Kofi Brown, known for his work with Sting and Joe Cocker. Brown described the atmosphere in Belarus during the festival as a synergy of two cultures.

During his performance, Brown invited a random audience member to dance on stage, adding a personal touch to the event. The festival's atmosphere was described as a space of freedom and a big jazz improvisation evening. It served as an open platform for experimentation and cultural exchange, reflecting the spirit of jazz itself.

The Let's Jazz festival is not just about music. It also includes a food court, lounge zone, and photo areas, providing attendees with a complete festival experience. What's more, the event is free to attend, making it accessible to everyone who wants to enjoy the pulsating rhythms, music, and joy it offers.

Gregg Kofi Brown expressed his enjoyment of performing at such events, stating that they are a testament to the power of music to bring people together. The festival continues to prove that Minsk is a place where music sounds freely, and its popularity ensures that it will continue to be a significant cultural event in the city for years to come.

As the second day of the festival approaches, the anticipation builds for another day of pulsating rhythms, music, and joy. The Let's Jazz festival in Minsk is more than just a music event; it's a celebration of diversity, freedom, and the universal language of music.
