Munich's Red Bull EHC Lands Top U20 National Goalie in Goaltender Acquisition - Under-20 National Goalkeeper Joins Red Bull Munich EHC Team
Ready to shake up the ice hockey scene, EHC Red Bull Munich has inked a deal with 21-year-old sensation Matthias Bittner, the U20 national goaltender. Hailing from the Krefeld Pinguins, Bittner brings impressive skill, ambition, and a fierce spirit to this four-time German champion team.
Bittner made a name for himself in the bustling ice hockey arena, rising through the ranks from the youth program of the Starbulls Rosenheim to landing a spot with the DEL2 club Krefeld Pinguine in the 2021/22 season. His breakthrough year saw him stepping onto the big stage in Germany's elite league, the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL), playing a total of 21 games for the Pinguine.
In the 2022/23 season, Bittner was loaned to the Füchse Duisburg in the Oberliga, where he showed his mettle in 20 hard-fought matches. With international experience under his belt, having played for the U20 national team, Bittner is geared up to make his mark in the heated competition that is the DEL.
Joining the ranks of Mathias Niederberger and Simon Wolf, Bittner will be one of the three goalkeepers on EHC Red Bull München's roster for the 2025/26 season.
