Uncovering of Over 70 Sex Workers during Almaty Raid, as Captured in Video Footage
In the heart of Almaty, the city's police force has been working tirelessly to maintain order and prevent illegal activities. According to a report by news site Polisia.kz, the Almalinsky District Police Department has taken administrative action against apartment owners whose properties have been used for prostitution, with a focus on residential complexes such as the 'Manhattan', 'Aqbulak', and 'Kausar'. In these complexes, 71 sex dens were found in apartments, with 22 of them being uncovered in the 'Manhattan' complex alone.
The 'Manhattan' complex has previously been embroiled in scandals due to order violations. A two-month check of the complex, initiated by Almaty's prosecutor's office, was previously conducted. However, the police department has yet to disclose if any new actions have been taken against the tenants or apartment owners of the 'Manhattan' complex.
Maksat Pshan, head of the Almalinsky District Police Department, has urged citizens to report any violations they may witness. He emphasised that preventive raids will continue on a permanent basis, with the police department actively working to maintain order and prevent illegal activities within residential complexes, including apartments near me.
The police have also taken measures against tenants involved in the illegal activities. Some apartments in the mentioned complexes housed individuals without proper registration or documents, a situation the police are working to rectify.
The tenants of the affected apartments in the residential complexes Manhattan, Aqbulak, and Kausar live in those respective residential complexes. The police department encourages active participation from citizens in reporting violations, as it is crucial in maintaining a safe and orderly city.
