Unconquered by unclaimed victories, Pauline Ferrand-Prévot remains determined in her road racing endeavors, even after triumphing in the Tour de France Femmes.
Pauline Ferrand-Prevot Wins the Tour de France Femmes
Pauline Ferrand-Prevot made history in 2025 by becoming the first French woman to win the Tour de France Femmes. The Olympic mountain bike champion, Paris-Roubaix winner, and multi-disciplinary world champion achieved her goal of winning the race within three years of returning to road racing.
After a small mistake in the first downhill, Ferrand-Prevot found herself in a second group. However, her team helped her catch up, and she regrouped with the leaders. SD Worx-Protime attacked en masse up front, but all three of the day's climbs remained up the road.
As the race progressed, Ferrand-Prevot and Maëva Squiban dominated the latter half. In the final stage, she jumped away from Vollering, Niewiadoma-Phinney, and Fisher-Black, securing her victory with two mountain stage victories.
Ferrand-Prevot built her victory at higher altitudes, taking a two-and-a-half-minute lead on the Col de la Madeleine. However, she expressed regret for a minor scare during the final stage of the Tour de France Femmes. Despite this, she expressed her love for the sport and her intention to continue racing for the next two years.
Although she achieved her goal, Ferrand-Prevot does not currently see herself preparing for the Tour de France in the same way again. She acknowledged the enormous sacrifice involved and suggested that replicating such a performance repeatedly within one season is unlikely. However, she still has two years left on her contract and affirms her love for cycling as her life, leaving the door open to future competition.
Looking ahead, Ferrand-Prevot is excited to find new goals and continue winning as many races as possible. She plans to set her sights on more big races, including the Tour of Flanders and Liege-Bastogne-Liege. With her exceptional talent and determination, it's safe to say that Ferrand-Prevot will continue to make waves in the world of cycling for years to come.
