Uncertain Situation: Undisclosed Information Provoked Inquiry

Anita Westrup, a dedicated journalist and event moderator, has been working at our studio in Freiburg since 2017. Her passion for football, music festivals, and everyday hero stories is evident in her reports on TV, both in front and behind the camera, as well as in her articles for the online news page and radio waves.

Before settling in Freiburg, Anita completed her Master's in German-French Journalism at the prestigious Sorbonne in Paris. Her journey in journalism began earlier, with internships and short-term contracts at the ARD studio in Paris and at ARTE.

Anita's career path in journalism started in earnest in 2016 when she moved back to Germany and began her trimedia traineeship at Southwest Broadcasting in Stuttgart. Prior to this, she had completed a voluntary social year in a youth hostel in Alsace and a four-year, part-time training course to become a theater pedagogue.

In addition to her work in journalism, Anita also brings her skills in theater pedagogy to various projects. This versatility was on display in 2023 when she moderated the panel discussion 'The End of Eyewitness Accounts?' in Freiburg's Kaiser's Hall, with Prof. Dr. Thomas Lindenberger as her cooperation partner.

Anita's academic journey began in 2010 at the Albert-Ludwigs-University in Freiburg, where she studied FrancoMedia and European Ethnology. Her educational background has undoubtedly contributed to her ability to report on a wide range of topics with depth and insight.

In her spare time, Anita enjoys immersing herself in the vibrant cultural scene of Freiburg, attending music festivals, and supporting her favorite football team. Her love for everyday hero stories also extends beyond her professional life, as she is always on the lookout for inspiring individuals to share their stories with the world.
