Unbeaten Rams attempting to subdue Saquon Barkley as they collide against the Eagles in a confrontation between the undefeated teams
The National Football League (NFL) season is heating up, and this Sunday, two unbeaten teams will face off as the Philadelphia Eagles take on the Los Angeles Rams. The Eagles and Rams are set for an exciting matchup, with both teams looking to maintain their perfect records.
Last season, the Eagles knocked the Rams out of the playoffs in a divisional round game, winning 38-22. This Sunday's game promises to be just as intense.
Saquon Barkley, the Eagles' star running back, has been a force to be reckoned with. In the two games against the Rams last season, Barkley broke off touchdown runs of 62, 70, 72, and 78 yards. He also had a franchise-record 255-yard, two-TD effort against the Rams in Week 12. This season, Barkley has rushed for 148 yards and two scores, including an 88-yard performance against Kansas City last weekend.
However, the Rams have responded to the threat posed by Barkley by signing defensive tackle Poona Ford and linebacker Nate Landman this offseason. Landman, in particular, has made a significant impact, earning the Week 1 NFC Defensive Player of the Week honour.
The Rams' offense, led by quarterback Matthew Stafford, has been impressive so far this season. Stafford threw for 298 yards and two touchdowns in their last game against Tennessee, while Davante Adams recorded his first 100-yard game and scored his first touchdown with the Rams. Wide receiver Puka Nacua also had a standout performance, catching eight passes for 91 yards.
The Rams' offense is currently the NFL's seventh-best, averaging 367.5 yards per game. The Eagles' offense, on the other hand, is ranked 29th, averaging 259.0 yards per game.
The Eagles have strengthened their pass rush this offseason by signing Za'Darius Smith, who could potentially reduce Barkley's impact in games against the Rams. Veteran tight end Dallas Goedert returned to practice this week after missing Week 2 due to an injury, while Jalen Carter, Tanner McKee, and Will Shipley were limited participants or remained sidelined with injuries.
Steve Avila, a guard for the Rams, and Braden Fiske, a defensive end for the Rams, did not practice on Wednesday due to injuries, while Colby Parkinson was a limited participant.
As both teams look to maintain their perfect records, this Sunday's game is sure to be an exciting clash between two formidable opponents. The Eagles and Rams will meet at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, with kickoff scheduled for 4:25 PM ET.
