A 48-year-old Ukrainian man was provisionally arrested at Frankfurt Airport's long-distance train station, following the discovery of forged documents and an imitation weapon. The man, whose name remains undisclosed due to ongoing investigations, was found to be in possession of a forged Czech residence permit and driver's license. During a search, federal police also discovered an imitation Walther P99 weapon. The man had arrived at Frankfurt Airport from Cologne without a valid ticket on an ICE train. Despite presenting a forged Czech residence permit to the federal police officers, he was arrested on charges of forgery of documents, violation of the weapons law, and fare evasion. Intriguingly, the man was found to possess a genuine and valid Polish residence permit. The seized imitation weapon is of type Walther P99. The federal police are currently investigating the case and further details will be released as the investigation progresses. The man remains in custody pending further proceedings. This incident serves as a reminder for travellers to ensure they have all the necessary documents in order and to always purchase valid tickets for their journeys. The use of imitation weapons is a serious offence and will not be tolerated.
