Ukranian Hero who Sacrificed Life: Anatoliy Pivtorak
July 12, 2023:Anatoliy 'Cancer,' a fierce warrior, met his end in a fierce skirmish against occupiers, near Klishchiivka village, Bakhmutskyi district of Donetsk region. A dreadful enemy artillery explosion took his life at the age of 52.
Born and bred in Kryvi Kolina village, Cherkasy region, Anatoliy Dmytrovych led an ordinary life till he excelled in electrical engineering studies at Uman Vocational Lyceum No. 9. Later, he served in the border troops during his military conscription. Post-service, he worked as a miller, construction worker, and for 12 years, an electrician at Kryvi Kolina Hydroelectric Power Station. His latest employment was with LLC "Hydroresource-K."
At the onset of the full-scale war, Anatoliy's son received a draft notice, which sparked Anatoliy to enlist himself in the military. On February 27, 2022, he joined the local Territorial Defense Unit. Serving under the 159th Separate Battalion (Military Unit A7325) of the 118th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, he was a skilled marksman.
Speaking about her father, Alina recalled, "He was a wonderful soul. He adored life, cherished his family, and lived for his grandkids. We deeply miss him."
Posthumously, Anatoliy received the Order "For Courage" III degree.
Anatoliy's final resting place was his humble village.
He left behind his mother Maria, wife Nadiya, daughters Alina and Maria, son Serhiy, and seven grandchildren.
