Stanislav Kuzminsky, a gallant 26-year-old solider, tragically lost his life in the line of duty near Popasna, Luhansk region, on a fateful day - April 3, 2022.
Hailing from Runkoshiv, Khmelnytskyi region, Stanislav embarked on his journey after graduating from Hrushkiv Lyceum. He pursued Veterinary Medicine at Kamianets-Podilskyi College of Podilskyi State Agrarian and Technical University, and post-graduation, he worked as a vet at a sheep farm in Chabanivka.
The winds of war called him away the following year, drafting him into the Presidential Regiment in Kyiv. His military service took a new turn from 2018 to 2021, as he served under contract in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, military unit A2300. He completed a specialization course in engineering and sapper skills, earning the distinction of a 1st class sapper. His service during the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) in Donetsk and Luhansk regions marked his significant contribution to the nation's defense.
Though discharged on January 29, 2021, after completing his contract, Stanislav returned to the Armed Forces of Ukraine just two weeks later, serving in the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo from February 12, 2021. As a sapper in the engineering and sapper platoon, he bravely battled on the frontlines.
February 24, 2022, brought the shocking news of a full-scale war. Amidst it all, Stanislav selflessly chose to leave his hospital bed and rejoin his comrades in the defense of Luhansk region.
Throughout his service, Stanislav received numerous recognitions for his valor. His medals included "For participation in the antiterrorist operation", "ATO Participant", "Joint Forces Operation. For victory and loyalty", the medal of the commander of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade "For military service to Ukraine", "For victory and loyalty". Posthumously, he was honored with the title of Hero of Ukraine and the medal "For Courage" III degree.
Reflecting on her brother's courage, Tetiana, his sister, shared profoundly, "My brother, a steadfast, valiant, and fearless soldier, a devoted friend and comrade, faithfully protected our peace, our future, and our country from the merciless enemy, even at the price of his life. My dear and cherished brother, ripped from me by war, I am immensely proud of him."
Stanislav was laid to rest in his hometown and bestowed with the title of "Honorary Citizen of Staroushitska AH". His loving parents and sister eagerly awaited his return.
