Ukrainian Victim Claims Life in Dem'yanenko's Martyrdom
March 16, 2023
Say goodbye to Sergeant Vladyslav Dem'yanenko, aka "Dimok," a 28-year-old hero who fell in the line of duty on the Chasiv Yar battlefield, Donetsk region. Just a couple of months short of his birthday, September 18, our brave warrior didn't get to celebrate another year.
Hailing from the quaint Buda village, Cherkasy region, Vladyslav had a diverse skill set. After completing Korsun-Shevchenkivskyi Vocational Lyceum, he excelled in tractor driving, agricultural machinery repair, and equipment maintenance. He also honed his driving skills, later climbing the ranks in the military. Despite starting distance learning at the State Biotechnological University's Faculty of Economic Relations and Finance, his passion for service never wavered, and he ultimately chose a military career.
Upon completing compulsory military service in 2013, Vladyslav sealed his fate with the Armed Forces of Ukraine by signing a contract. Assigned to the 92nd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Cossack Hetman Ivan Sirko (renamed an assault brigade in autumn 2023), he built a life in Kharkiv with his family. From the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) / Joint Forces Operation (JFO) to defensive operations during the full-scale war, his squad was there, engaging enemy forces head-on.
"My husband was a ruthless warrior, a die-hard patriot, an embodiment of resilience and unyielding spirit! He longed for our daughters Sofiika, Solomiika, and Karolinka to grow up in an unyielding, independent nation, and after this war ended, he eagerly wanted a son too! True to his word, honest, forthright. We sorely miss him..." shares his grieving widow, Anastasiia.
The waiting was long and agonizing for the family, but eventually, on February 21, 2024, the war hero was laid to rest at Holopyativske Cemetery in Khlystunivka village, Cherkasy region.
Vladyslav leaves behind his loving wife and three daughters.

- With the ongoing war-and-conflicts in Ukraine, policy-and-legislation regarding military support and personnel welfare are being scrutinized and discussed more than ever in the realm of politics.
- As the nation mourns the loss of war hero, Serge health-and-safety measures can also be extended to civilians, specifically sports enthusiasts, to ensure their wellbeing during general-news events like the upcoming NFL season or a major football match.
- On a lighter note, despite the seriousness of the sports world, American football has been serving as a distraction for many who are seeking respite from the troubling politics and general-news, with the 2023 NFL taking center stage this fall.
- Amidst the solemnity of a war memorial service for a fallen soldier like Vladyslav Dem'yanenko, one might find solace in the unity and camaraderie offered by sports, symbolically reminding us of the resilience, patriotism, and unyielding spirit he embodied.
