More Men for War: Duma Passes Law for Stateless Persons

The Russian State Duma has recently approved a law allowing stateless persons to serve in the Russian army. According to the oppositional Russian portal "Meduza," this measure aims to "expand the circle of persons who can be contractually committed to military service." The law primarily targets individuals living or previously living in annexed Ukrainian territories, prioritizing those who have lost their Ukrainian citizenship and have yet to acquire Russian citizenship due to "objective reasons."

War Efforts: NATO's Expansion and Russia's Preparations

NATO leaders are set to decide on the largest reinforcement since the end of the Cold War, aiming to increase defense spending to 5% of GDP by 2035. At least 3.5% of GDP should be spent on traditional military spending, while investments in counter-terrorism or militarily usable infrastructure will also be considered. Meanwhile, Russian forces are expanding their missile factory, Votkinsk, in an apparent effort to strengthen their military capabilities for the long conflict ahead.
