Ukrainian Medics Train Lithuanian Colleagues in Wartime Emergency Skills
Blue/Yellow, a Lithuanian organization dedicated to enhancing the country's resilience, recently hosted a significant medical training event. This was the first time Ukrainian medical professionals with frontline experience shared their expertise with Lithuanian colleagues. The intensive course, led by a volunteer doctor with nearly four years of military experience, aimed to strengthen Lithuania's preparedness for crisis and wartime situations.
The three-day training, held under the Blue/Yellow program, was based on the internationally recognized military medicine algorithm MARCH. It combined theoretical sessions with practical exercises in realistic combat simulations. The course was designed for doctors, nurses, paramedics, and volunteers, with a total of 35 participants. Vaiva Jankiene, coordinator of Blue/Yellow Medical, found the training valuable and necessary.
Aurimas Pečkauskas, a former Lithuanian Minister of Health who recently returned from a volunteer mission in Ukraine, attended the training. He praised the Ukrainian medics from TacMed Ukraine who conducted the course. Laura Paukšte, director of Blue/Yellow, emphasized the organization's goal to strengthen Lithuania's resilience through such initiatives.
The successful completion of this training marks a significant step in Lithuania's efforts to enhance its crisis and wartime preparedness. The exchange of knowledge between Ukrainian and Lithuanian medical professionals has not only expanded the skillset of Lithuanian healthcare workers but also fostered international cooperation in the face of global challenges.
