Senior Soldier Volodymyr Loyuk, a devoted 24-year-old father, left an indelible mark on his family and country when he tragically passed away in the fierce battle for Bakhmut, Donetsk Oblast.
Hailing from Ostrivets, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, Volodymyr pursued his education at Horodenka Vocational Lyceum No. 31 after completing school. Working at the Horodenka branch of "Perspektyva" PJSC "Zernoprodukt MHP," he found camaraderie and purpose in his professional life. Football held a special place in his heart, representing more than just a pastime.
In his leisure time, Volodymyr cherished his family above all. His children, Sofia and Bohdan, were the lights of his world. Recalled fondly as a benevolent spirit who never hesitated to lend a hand to others, he left an indelible legacy behind.
Amidst the full-scale Russian invasion in August 2022, Volodymyr made the bold decision to join forces with the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. On the frontlines, he fought tirelessly against the occupiers, serving faithfully with the 1st (Donetsk) border detachment.
"No words can express the void left by Volodymyr," shared his bereaved wife, Victoria.
In recognition of his exemplary courage, Volodymyr was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage, 3rd Class. He was laid to rest in his hometown.
Volodymyr's parents, Vasyl and Liubov, wife Victoria, daughter Sofia, son Bohdan, grandmother Yevdokiya, sisters, brothers, relatives, and friends await his return at home, keeping his memory alive.
Though scant information exists regarding Volodymyr's part in the Bakhmut battle, his life and selfless sacrifice stand as a testament to the resilience and determination of the Ukrainian people.
