November 9, 2023: A Fateful Day for Ukrainian Hero, Soldier Andriy Ivanov
Known as the quiet yet brave "Tihyi," Andriy Ivanov met his end near Klishchiivka, a village nestled amidst the battles raging in the direction of Bahmutivka, Donetsk region. Tragically, on this day, he suffered fatal injuries while executing a combat mission. Just a month prior, on October 1, this 45-year-old warrior celebrated another birthday.
Born and raised in the heart of Volochysk, Khmelnytskyi region, Andriy's journey led him to Volochysk Vocational Technical School No. 5. Here, he mastered the art of electric gas welding. In civilian life, he served as the deputy chief of the guard at PJSC "Motor Sich's" machine-building plant. When not at work, he cherished his time at home with his beloved wife and daughter. An avid sports enthusiast and marksman, he maintained his physical fitness and fed his interests.
With conflict engulfing Ukraine, Andriy made the selfless decision to protect his family's heart and soul. He joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine and was deployed to the frontlines as a medic in the 42nd Separate Mechanized Brigade.
His daughter, Anastasiya, poignantly speaks of the loving influence Andriy had on her life: "He was the best person in the world for me. At only 17, he took on fatherhood, and despite his youth, became the perfect role model, friend, and support. He knew how to listen and offer compassion. He was honest, fair, and loving. His love was so profound that he didn't hesitate to lay down his life for the well-being of his family, to secure the freedom of Ukraine as a whole. All his relatives and friends bear witness to his bravery, integrity, and patriotism. He was truly a hero."
Buried in his hometown, Andriy left behind his devoted wife, Oksana, and his daughter, Anastasiya.
