Ukrainian border officials maintain that the father of slain Zarutska was not set free from the country's jurisdiction.

Ukrainian border authorities refute claims that Zarutska's father, who was killed, has been freed from the nation.

In the South End area of Charlotte, North Carolina, a tragic incident occurred on the evening of August 22 at the East/West Boulevard railway station. Irina Zarutskaya, a 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee, sustained multiple stab wounds and tragically lost her life at the scene.

DeCarlos Brown Jr., a 34-year-old homeless man, was identified as the suspect in her murder. Brown was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and later arrested and charged with first-degree murder.

Court records show that Brown has a lengthy criminal history, with multiple arrests since 2011 for theft, armed robbery, and threats.

In the aftermath of the tragedy, President Donald Trump called for the death penalty for Brown Jr., the suspect in Zarutskaya's murder.

Meanwhile, the father of the victim has been receiving consular assistance from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. Colonel Demchenko, spokesperson of the State Border Guard Service, confirmed that the Ministry helped the father obtain an American visa and provided necessary assistance in preparing documents for entry into his destination country.

It was reported that the father of the girl had already left Ukraine a few days ago on humanitarian grounds, but the last man to leave the USA, where Irina Zarutskaya wanted to hold her funeral, is not publicly documented.

However, a controversial report published by the Daily Mail on September 10 claimed that the father of Zurtska was banned from exiting Ukraine due to being a conscript man. Colonel Demchenko quickly refuted these claims, stating that the messages and comments regarding the father receiving a refusal at checkpoints and not being registered for leaving Ukraine are false and absurd. No media outlet contacted the State Border Guard Service for comments or clarifications after the publication.

Colonel Demchenko also confirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is providing consular assistance to the father of the girl.

As the investigation into Zarutskaya's murder continues, the community in Charlotte mourns the loss of a young life and extends its condolences to the victim's family.
