Trump Rumored to Admire Ukrainian Resilience in Face of Russia

Ukrainian attack left Trump allegedly in awe

In a twister of tides, it appears that US President Trump may have changed his tune about Ukrainian President Zelensky's "no cards in hand" statement. The recent string of drone attacks on four Russian military bases reportedly left Trump praising the move as "pretty strong." According to a report by Axios, Trump called it "intense" and suggested that the Ukrainian attacks were a significant blow to the Russian forces.

Trump's advisor commented that it's akin to a Chihuahua biting a larger dog, suggesting the impact of the Ukrainian attacks on their much bigger adversary. However, Trump is still cautious about hoping for a calm response from Russian President Vladimir Putin.

After a phone call with Putin, Trump hinted on his Truth Social platform that Putin had declared he would respond to the Ukrainian attacks. Despite publicly keeping quiet on the matter, Trump's spokesperson admitted that up to 20 Russian combat aircraft were targeted and around 10 of them were destroyed.

Ukraine's aggressive approach is not new. The sinking of the flagship of the Black Sea Fleet, the "Moskva," and attacks on the Crimean Bridge have been part of Ukraine's efforts to stand up to Russia. This assertive tactics have also included heavy losses for Russian forces, with thousands of tanks, armored vehicles, and artillery systems wiped out.

Recent analysis by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) indicates that the scale has tipped in Ukraine's favor since January 2024. Russia's advance is slow, accompanied by heavy personnel losses. While some experts claim that Russia has the upper hand in the Ukraine war, CSIS argues that the Russian military has shown poor performance on the battlefield.

The question remains whether Ukraine's improved military performance has shifted Trump's view of Zelensky's statement. While the search results do not offer a definitive answer, Ukraine's drone attacks on Russian soil and strategic victories have certainly made a statement, strengthening Ukraine's position on the international stage.
