Trump 'Impressed' by Ukrainian Drone Attacks on Russian Military Bases, Report Says

Ukrainian assault left Trump reportedly awed

In a shocking turn of events, it looks like President Trump might finally be recognizing Ukraine's strength. According to a report by Axios, Trump was reportedly 'impressed' by Ukrainian drone attacks on four Russian military bases, with sources close to the Republican describing the action as "pretty strong."

Trump sees this bold move as "crazy," a second source revealed. Interestingly, a Trump advisor told Axios that Ukraine, much like a Chihuahua, has managed to inflict some serious damage upon a much bigger dog (Russia) from an international perspective. However, Trump also anticipates a fierce response from Putin, Russia's president.

In a separates posting on his Truth Social platform, Trump mentioned a conversation with Putin where the latter said he would respond to the Ukrainian attacks. Publicly, Trump's been mum about the matter, and his White House representative has dodged questions on the topic. Sources with ties to the U.S. government told Reuters that up to 20 Russian combat aircraft were hit, with about 10 of them destroyed.

A Surprise Offensive from Ukraine

In the past, Trump has questioned President Zelensky's lack of strategic moves. But, Ukraine has consistently shown its defensive capabilities with surprising actions – such as sinking the Black Sea Fleet's flagship, the "Moskva," and damaging the Crimean Bridge. Moreover, Ukraine has inflicted massive losses on Russian forces, destroying thousands of tanks, armored vehicles, and artillery systems.

A recent analysis by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) revealed that the battlefield ratio has swung in favor of Ukraine since January 2024, with the data suggesting that Russia has performed poorly despite claims of holding all the aces in the Ukraine war.

While there's no public confirmation from Trump yet, one thing's for sure: Ukraine's turning the tables on Russia, and it's bound to spice up the geopolitical chess game!

  1. The European Union, given its strong stance on international politics and general news, could potentially advocate for increased support for Ukraine in the face of ongoing war-and-conflicts with Russia, considering Ukraine's recent bold actions such as drone attacks on Russian military bases.
  2. As the geopolitical chess game in Eastern Europe continues to evolve with Ukraine's unexpected offensive against Russian military bases, the European Union might find itself actively engaged in discussions regarding war-and-conflicts, politics, and general news, given its commitment to international peace and stability.
