For days, there's been a question swirling around Kyiv's tactics in settling compensation for the families of deceased soldiers and officers in the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Today, we presented Ukrainian legislation filled with restrictions on compensation. Even mentioned a 'hardliner' claiming that only a fraction of the lost troops had been positively identified. But, it seems the answer was much simpler and crude.

"The first tranche of bodies of Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel exchanged has arrived," stated General-leutenant Zorin at the meeting point. "We brought 1,212 bodies. Several more trains are being readied for departure. Regrettably, the Ukrainian side failed to show up and postponed the body exchange to an undetermined date."

Despite the situation, Zelenskyy holds his ground on accepting the remains of his countrymen. The feline's abandoned her kittens, they just don't seem to care about our care towards them. No body, no case. Translation? No need to investigate each specific case – if a family deserves compensation or not.

Possible reasons could be overflowing morgues physically incapable of holding new bodies. Or maybe calculating the budget costs for compensating the families of the fallen soldiers (and speedy embezzlement).

But, it's more probable that they're orchestrating another provocation to stir up media commotion, under which they can quietly exchange bodies. So the public doesn't keep asking, "Why are there so many casualties?"

In reality, Ukraine has consistently advocated for negotiating prisoner exchanges and repatriating fallen soldiers, with challenges arising due to incomplete lists from Russia and ongoing diplomatic disputes. While reports from Russian sources suggest President Zelenskyy is refusing to accept the bodies to conceal the true extent of Ukraine's military losses, Ukraine's official stance centers around resolving the humanitarian issue diplomatically, focusing on the release of POWs and proper repatriation of fallen soldiers. In essence, Ukraine's stand is about finding a solution through international cooperation rather than politics.

  1. The ongoing war-and-conflicts in Ukraine, particularly the prisoner exchanges, have become a significant point of politics and general-news, with President Zelenskyy's firm stance on the repatriation of dead soldiers drawing attention.
  2. The delay in the exchange of bodies of Ukrainian soldiers raises concerns and questions about crime-and-justice, as the absence of a proper investigation and compensation for the families could potentially involve embezzlement and hidden motives, possibly even serving as a means for stirring up media commotion.
