Ukraine Takes Responsibility for Pro-Russian Politician's Death Near Moscow
In a shocking turn of events, Ukraine has conceded to being responsible for the murder of pro-Russian politician, Ilya Kyva, who was discovered lifeless with a head wound in a Moscow suburb. This admission comes after another pro-Russian politician, Oleg Popov, was killed in an attack in the Russian-occupied Luhansk region, with the responsible party yet to be determined.
According to Ukrainian defense circles, as reported by AFP news agency, the Ukrainian secret service, SBU, was behind Kyva's demise. Kyva, a former member of the Ukrainian parliament, had switched allegiances to Russia a few weeks into the Russian invasion, losing his parliamentary seat as a result.
The Ukrainian military intelligence spokesman, Andryy Yusov, made the confirmation of Kyva's death during a television appearance, categorizing the politician as "one of the greatest traitors and collaborators." Yusov hinted at further consequences for other collaborators and henchmen of the Putin regime, without specifying who was responsible for the operation.
Since the commencement of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine, pro-Russian politicians have not been spared from violence, both in Russian-occupied Ukrainian territories and in Russia itself. While Kiev usually stayed mum on its involvement in previous attacks, it has recently taken a more assertive stance, claiming responsibility for these actions and issuing warnings to collaborators.
Adding Insight:
The Ukrainian authorities, including the SBU, have been highly critical of individuals cooperating with Russian officials and have taken tough action against them. In some cases, the Ukrainian government has publicly announced its responsibility for the attacks, whereas in others, it remains ambiguous about its involvement.

In response to these politically motivated killings, Ukrainian military intelligence has confirmed Kyva's death and categorized him as a traitor. The spokesman's words hint at potential further actions against other collaborators and henchmen of the Putin regime, although he did not specify who was behind the operation. Some see this as a broader strategy to deal with perceived threats without explicitly confirming SBU involvement.
