In a bold move, the Ukraine has reportedly struck multiple Russian airfields, targeting strategic bombers deep within Russian territory. A security service representative from Kyiv, speaking anonymously to "Kyiv Independent," claims that more than 40 Russian bombers have been hit at the Belaya airbase in the Irkutsk region.
According to the representative, the SBU drones were responsible for the attacks, adding that these drones have been relentlessly targeting aircraft used to bomb Ukrainian cities every night. The report suggests that the affected bombers include A-50, Tu-95, and Tu-22 M3 models.
Rumors and videos circulating on social media hint at another Ukrainian attack on the Olenya Airbase in the Murmansk region, an attack that was over 1800 kilometers from the Russian-Ukrainian border.
A Long-Distance Victory
Recent events show Ukraine striking Russian forces even 7000 kilometers away. A successful attack occurred in the Siberian city of Vladivostok last Saturday night, likely carried out by Ukrainian drones.
Russia, which has been bombarding Ukraine since the onset of its war, is often targeting infrastructure and civilian areas. In response, Ukrainian forces regularly retaliate with drone attacks against Russian air force airfields.
