Ukraine experiences imminent short-term rain and thunderstorms across most regions.
Ukraine is set to experience a stretch of dry and sunny weather over the weekend, according to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center. The influence of the anticyclone Ines is expected to bring warm temperatures and stable conditions across the country.
On Wednesday, daytime temperatures will vary significantly across the country. The west of Ukraine will experience temperatures between 18-23°C, while the north, including Vinnytsia, will see temperatures ranging from 24-29°C. Elsewhere in the country, temperatures will reach 30-34°C, with some areas in the south experiencing extreme heat of 35-37°C. Overnight temperatures on Wednesday will range from 14-19°C, with the south experiencing temperatures up to 23°C.
Kyiv's weather on Wednesday includes a brief shower, overnight temperatures of 17-19°C, daytime temperatures of 26-28°C, and a northwest wind of 7-12 m/s. Brief showers are also expected across most of Ukraine on Wednesday and Thursday. Western, Vinnytsia, and Zhytomyr regions will experience brief showers and thunderstorms, with hail and gusts of 15-20 m/s in some areas.
On Thursday, the rest of the country will be dry, while brief showers and thunderstorms are expected in northern, central, Sumy, eastern, and southeastern regions. Overnight temperatures in Kyiv will be 12-14°C, and daytime temperatures will be 24-26°C, with a northwest wind of 5-10 m/s. The wind in Kyiv on Friday will be from the west, with speeds of 3-8 m/s.
The south and southeast will see daytime highs of 28-33°C on August 8th, with overnight temperatures of 16-21°C. The Carpathian region may reach up to 30°C on August 8th. Overnight temperatures on August 8th will range from 10-15°C.
Looking ahead to the weekend, the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center forecasts that Ukraine will have mostly dry and sunny weather on Saturday, August 9, and Sunday, August 10, 2025. Temperatures will be warm, ranging from approximately +25 to +33 degrees Celsius during the day, with cooler nights between +14 to +22 degrees depending on the region. There may be isolated local rains at night or in some western areas on Sunday evening, but overall the weather will be stable, sunny, and comfortable.
