In a tragic event that has shaken the community, a Saudi student named Mohammed Al-Qasim, 20, was stabbed to death in Cambridge, UK on August 4th, 2025. The incident, described as an unprovoked attack, occurred near Mill Park, a short distance from Al-Qasim’s residence.

Al-Qasim was a Saudi student enrolled in a 10-week English language program at EF International Language Campuses. Emergency responders arrived at the scene at 11:27 p.m., but Al-Qasim was pronounced dead at 12:01 a.m. on August 2.

British police have arrested two men in connection with the incident. A 21-year-old man has been charged with murder and possession of a knife, and a 50-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. Both remain in police custody. There is mention of a third suspect who is still at large.

The Saudi Embassy in the UK is coordinating with British authorities and preparing to repatriate Al-Qasim’s body to Saudi Arabia. A UK coroner revealed that Al-Qasim died from an 11.5 cm stab wound to the neck.
