UK Tour Announcement: Pulp's Mark Webber to Engage in "In Conversation" Sessions
The iconic British band Pulp is set to embark on a book tour and a series of live events, as organised by Southbank Centre, in celebration of the release of Mark Webber's book, "I'm With Pulp - Are You?" and the 30th anniversary of their classic album, "Different Class."
The band, fronted by Jarvis Cocker, recently announced the reissue of "Different Class," which includes the first-ever release of their Glastonbury 1995 performance. This follows the band's successful 'You Deserve More' UK arena tour this summer and their triumphant set at Glastonbury 2025.
"I'm With Pulp - Are You?" is a visual history of the band, featuring photos, flyers, record covers, setlists, badges, posters, press clippings, merchandise, and more. In an interview following the book's release, Webber reflected on Cocker's comments that he was the band's "first fan," saying that while he might not have been the first fan, he was one of the few in the mid-to-late '80s. Cocker wrote the foreword for the book, describing Webber as a "hoarder" and the band's "first fan" and their "first tour manager."
The book tour will commence after Pulp's current North American tour ends at the end of this month. The tour will visit cities including Lincoln, St Albans, Hebden Bridge, Manchester, Pontefract, Birmingham, Nottingham, Sheffield, Swansea, and Portsmouth.
Pulp's eighth album, 'More,' was released in June, marking their first full-length record in 24 years. The album was compared to Blur's 'The Ballad Of Darren' and Suede's post-reunion albums in terms of retaining the original spirit and flair. NME noted that Pulp captured the spirit of the Glastonbury grounds with a little peace, love, and joyous wonky-pop hedonism. The album was reviewed by NME and received a four-star rating. Their Glastonbury 2025 set was awarded five stars by NME.
Tickets for the tour are now on sale and available for purchase. Fans of Pulp and those interested in the band's history are encouraged to attend these exciting events.
As the band continues to celebrate the release of 'More' and the 30th anniversary of "Different Class," it's clear that Pulp's legacy continues to resonate with fans and critics alike.
