UFC titan Khabib Nurmagomedov stirred up a hubbub over the weekend during UEFA Champions League coverage, refusing to shake hands with sports broadcaster Kate Scott.
Nurmagomedov was among the spectators watching Paris Saint-Germain steamroll Inter Milan to clinch the UEFA Champions League victory – their very first time doing so. The excitement comes after Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, and Lionel Messi all parted ways with the club in recent years.

Nurmagomedov, a devout Muslim, joined hands with streamer IShowSpeed, Jamie Carragher, Micah Richards, and Thierry Henry, but left Scott hanging. As Scott extended her hand, Nurmagomedov kept his hand pressed against his chest.
"I apologize, thank you so much," Scott said, withdrawing her hand and placing it on her chest.
Most probably, Nurmagomedov was adhering to his religious practices by not shaking hands with Scott. Islam, being his faith, discourages men from handshaking with unmarried women.

Nurmagomedov was indeed a force to be reckoned with in the UFC world. He made history as the first Muslim fighter to take home a UFC championship. He called it quits on his professional career after his formidable submission victory over Justin Gaethje at UFC 254 in 2020.
He boasted an impressive 29-0 record throughout his career.
