UFC unveils Peter Yan's scheduled combat date
Former UFC Lightweight Champion Petr Yan will square off against 12th-ranked contender Marcus McGee at an upcoming Abu Dhabi event on July 26. This was confirmed by Yan's manager, Sayat Abdrakhmanov, in an interview with TASS.
The initial plan was to pit Yan against Cory Sandhagen for this date, but negotiations fell through.
Yan, 32, currently finds himself on a two-win streak following a rough patch that led to three losses. Last year, the Russian fighter managed victories over Sun Yadong and Deiveson Figueiredo via decision.
McGee, aged 35, has yet to taste defeat in the UFC, having ended three matches early. His last victory came against Jonathan Martinez in November 2021.
