UFC Potential Return of Habib Nurmagomedov

UFC President Dana White has hinted at the potential return of Khabib Nurmagomedov to the octagon, despite the Russian fighter's retirement announcement following his bout with Justin Gaethje at UFC 254. White spoke to radio host Zach Gelb on CBS Sports Radio, stating that he held discussions with Nurmagomedov and his team after the fight, during which the fighter was emotional.

White expressed hope that Nurmagomedov, who won against Gaethje via a triangle choke in the second round, would return to the UFC to secure his 30th win. The 32-year-old retired undefeated from MMA competition in 2021, boasting a record of 29-0 and earning a spot in the UFC Hall of Fame. The fight against Gaethje was his first since the passing of his father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov.

Recent speculation suggests that Khabib may be planning a quick return to the UFC, with some sources implying that he could make a comeback as early as August 2025. Current reports indicate that despite his retirement, Khabib remains active in MMA-related activities, serving as a top coach in the field.

However, it's important to note that no official UFC statement has been issued to confirm this comeback. Thus, while the possibility of Nurmagomedov's return is currently a topic of interest among fans and media, it remains speculative at present.

Dana White, UFC President, expressed hope that the retired undefeated mixed-martial-arts (MMA) champion Khabib Nurmagomedov could return to the UFC, aiming to secure his 30th victory. Despite his retirement, Khabib Nurmagomedov remains active in the MMA field as a top coach.
