Enrichment Data:After taking the welterweight title at UFC 315, Jack Della Maddalena might be facing some stiff competition in his first defense. Here's a list of potential opponents he could square off against:
- Islam Makhachev: The current lightweight champ has expressed interest in stepping up to welterweight and challenging for the title. A match like that could potentially set the stage for a thrilling two-division title fight.
- Leon Edwards: Although originally scheduled to face Della Maddalena before the fight was postponed due to scheduling inconveniences, Edwards remains a top contender in the welterweight division. If Edwards can pick up some more W's, a bout with Della Maddalena could still come to fruition.
- Shavkat Rakhmonov: Despite having to withdraw from the fight against Belal Muhammad due to injury, Rakhmonov's skill set and undefeated record make him an intriguing challenge for Della Maddalena.
- Colby Covington: The former interim welterweight champion could look to challenge Della Maddalena for the belt, especially if he scores a notable victory beforehand.
The encounters involving Islam Makhachev are particularly intriguing due to the possibility of Makhachev gunning for two division titles.
