UFC and Paramount conclude a monumental $7.7 billion deal, signifying the demise of the Pay TV era.
UFC Moves Exclusively to Paramount+ in a $7.7 Billion Deal
In a groundbreaking seven-year agreement worth $7.7 billion, UFC events will be moving exclusively to Paramount+ starting in 2026. This shift marks the end of the traditional pay-per-view model for UFC events in the U.S., making UFC content more affordable and accessible to fans.
Under the deal, all UFC events will be available via the Paramount+ subscription service. This includes:
- 13 numbered premium UFC events per year, previously pay-per-view cards, which typically feature title fights as these are the UFC’s marquee events.
- 30 UFC Fight Night events per year, showcasing rising talent and established fighters, often including tournament-style matchups or contender bouts.
Select numbered events will also be simulcast on CBS.
The standard Paramount+ subscription, priced at $7.99/month with ads or $12.99/month ad-free, will now include main UFC events. This move provides financial stability for UFC and offers Paramount the opportunity to tap into the MMA fanbase to boost subscriber numbers.
The new deal represents a transformative shift in UFC distribution, dramatically lowering cost barriers and increasing accessibility for fans by eliminating individual pay-per-view fees for the first time in UFC history.
| UFC Event Type | Number Per Year | Title Fights / Notes | Distribution | |---------------------|-----------------|------------------------------------------|------------------------------------| | Numbered Events | 13 | Primarily title fights | Paramount+ (exclusive), some on CBS | | Fight Night Events | 30 | Non-premium cards, contender fights, tournaments | Paramount+ exclusive |
With this move, global media conglomerate Paramount has lured UFC away from ESPN, signifying a significant change in the landscape of UFC distribution and fan accessibility.
