Uelzen and Lüneburg Crime Spree: Thefts, Burglaries, and Accidents
Uelzen and Lüneburg have seen a spate of crimes over the past few days. Authorities are investigating several incidents, including thefts, burglaries, and a traffic accident.
In Uelzen, two motorcycles were stolen from a garage in Elbstraße, Stiepelse between 1 and 3 December. The garage door was forced open, but no suspects have been identified.
In Lüneburg, a senior citizen was involved in a serious accident on the Friedrich-Ebert Bridge on 5 December around 16:45. The driver of a Hyundai i20 skidded and collided with a guardrail, resulting in significant injuries and an estimated 1500 euros of damage.
A fire engulfed a kitchen on the first floor of a multi-family house in Lüneburg's Lüner Weg around the same time, causing an estimated 100,000 euros of damage.
Several burglaries and attempted break-ins were reported in Lüneburg. An office building in Bardowicker Street was broken into around 22:00 on 5 December, with unknown individuals forcing a window at the inner courtyard. An attempted break-in occurred in 'Großer Garten' street, where individuals tried to enter through a terrace door but only damaged the outer glazing. 'Am Domänenhof' restaurant was burglarized between the evening of 4 December and 5 December, with cigarettes and cash stolen. A residence in Rullstorf's Dahlwegsfeld was also targeted, with jewelry and cash taken.
A large-scale control operation on 5 December resulted in the detection of two high-speeding offenses between Klein Gusborn and Zadrau. Additionally, car break-ins occurred on the parking lot at the Sülwiesen in Lüneburg, with four vehicles' side windows smashed and interiors searched.
Authorities are currently investigating these incidents and urge anyone with information to come forward. No arrests have been made, and the public is reminded to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
