UEC Road European Championships 2025: Climbers and Classics Contenders to Battle in Drôme-Ardèche
The UEC Road European Championships are set to take place in Drôme-Ardèche, France, from October 1-5, 2025. Following the UCI Road World Championships in Rwanda, these championships will also cater to climbers and hilly Classics contenders.
The event will feature individual time trial events on a 24km course in Loriol-Étoile, with the Junior Women's race being half the distance at 12.2km. The Elite Men's road race, covering 202km, will see contenders like Tadej Pogacar, Jonas Vingegaard, Juan Ayuso, Marc Hirschi, Joao Almeida, and Alberto Bettiol vying for the title. Remco Evenepoel will lead the Belgian Elite Men's team in both the time trial and road race.
Favorites for the 2025 UCI Road World Championships, such as Tadej Pogacar, Remco Evenepoel, and Derek Gee, along with other notable contenders like Quinn Simmons, are expected to participate. The winners will wear the European champion's jersey for a year in their respective disciplines. In the Elite Women's road race, covering 116km, contenders include Demi Vollering, Elisa Longo Borghini, Pauline Ferrand-Prévot, and Kasia Niewiadoma.
The 10th edition of the combined European Elite Road Championships will offer 14 titles across Junior, Under 23, and Elite men's and women's road races and time trials. Held in the Ardèche and Drôme departments of central southern France, these championships promise exciting competition and a chance for riders to showcase their skills before the UCI Road World Championships.
