UCLA Contempo Flux Spring 2018 Chamber Music Recital

The UCLA Contempo Flux Spring 2018 Chamber Music Recital is set to take place on Saturday, June 9, at Schoenberg Hall. This contemporary music ensemble, part of UCLA's Herb Alpert School of Music, is well-known for presenting chamber music recitals featuring new and avant-garde works.

Another noteworthy piece is Steven Stucky's Sonate en form de preludes, i, ii, iv, performed by Layla Stefanacci (oboe), Maxwell Paulus (horn), and Gloria Cheng (harpsichord).

The recital also features György Ligeti's Trio for Violin, Horn, and Piano, performed by Xenia Deviatkina-Loh (violin), Maxwell Paulus (horn), and Nicholas Carlozzi (piano). Additionally, Jean-Luc Darbelley's Accents will be performed by Jake Boring (alto saxophone) and Maxwell Paulus (horn). Caroline Shaw's Entr'acte will be performed by Xenia Deviatkina-Loh (violin), Viola You (violin), Lu Walstad (viola), Jeffrey Ho (cello). The program concludes with Anton Webern's Concerto for Nine Instruments, Op. 24.

Attendees can enjoy the recital free of charge, and a reception will follow the event. Parking is available in Lot 2. The recital is directed by Gloria Cheng, a renowned pianist and music director of UCLA Contempo.
