UCLA students gain insights into the entertainment industry through music industry interview series
On January 19, renowned singer, songwriter, producer, DJ, and remixer Kaskade will grace the virtual stage for the premiere episode of "Office Hours," a live-streamed interview series. The event will be broadcast on Tumblr and YouTube, marking the launch of this exciting new venture.
Kaskade will engage in a conversation with music journalist Steve Baltin, hosted by the Music Industry Committee (MIC) at UCLA. This committee, composed of undergraduate and graduate students, aims to provide events and networking opportunities for those keen on learning more about the music industry.
The series is a collaborative effort between the MIC at UCLA, UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music, Tumblr, and WERD. WERD, curated by Steve Baltin, is a live magazine experience that brings together musicians and fans in an intimate setting.
UCLA students and faculty can join the live interview with a valid UCLA ID and registration. For those who are unable to attend, the session will be available for viewing later.
UCLA students and the Tumblr community can submit questions for Kaskade in advance and during the live interview at the WERD Tumblr Ask Box. This provides an opportunity for the audience to engage directly with the guest.
Following Kaskade, American rapper and actor Machine Gun Kelly is set to appear on "Office Hours" in February. More guests for future episodes will be announced.
UCLA alumnus Brad Delson, a founding member of Grammy Award-winning rock band Linkin Park, piloted an offline installment of "Office Hours."
Admission to "Office Hours" is free, and interested individuals can stay updated by following @MICatUCLA on Twitter, Instagram, and liking on Facebook for exclusive invitations.
Kaskade has expressed his excitement about talking with students at UCLA who are passionate about the music industry. This promises to be an engaging and insightful conversation, not to be missed.
